Are you wondering how to become a musician? Well you’ve come to the wrong and right place!

HOW TO BE MUSICIAN 101

• Allow room for mental instability

• Have no friends for years

• Go to the wood shed

• Invest your life savings in instruments

• Start a million bands till one clicks

• Feel bad about promoting yourself

• Use guitar tabs religiously

Heres some great tips to start out!

I’m just joking. slightly. In reality being a musician is not a clear cut path or journey. I started my journey quite young at 5 years old. Others will much later. Music is something that you will always be learning more about, and unless you have 200 years on earth, you will never stop learning.

Here’s my real tips to becoming a musician

• Find a niche

• Get a good learning instrument

• Find a mentor

• Join an ensemble or group

• Create a practice routine

• Don’t reject theory and ear training

• Compose and learn song structure

I always try to explain to people I teach that ANYONE can create music. But, a musician is someone who dedicates their time to practicing their craft and more importantly applying this to real situations and creations. Picking a path and delving deep is one way I have found to become a better musician.

All of these tips are a good start if you’re looking to start a path in music.
