I wanted to introduce the Not Your Average Music Blog and what it entails. This blog is meant to open up discussion between musicians and highlight creative talents. Here, I will write about music stuff (I know, so specific!), personal anecdotes, music knowledge, highlighting creative works, musician stories, and related news.

If you haven’t already stalked this entire website (I won’t judge), you may know me as Laurel Joy. I am a devoted pianist and artist. I am following my life long dream of becoming a professional pianist, despite the *cough* difficult career path. I have come across so many amazing people, learned a lot about life, and have some hilarious stories from my years of being a young musician in an up and coming scene.
